From Kyle Kramer, the Director of Lay Degree Programs:
At least once each semester, Saint Meinrad Seminary and
School of Theology sponsors an evening of theological conversation called
"Theology in the Round.” Similar to the popular "Theology on Tap” program,
Theology in the Round provides an opportunity for seminarians, lay degree
students, permanent deacon candidates, and alumni to gather for informal
conversation around topics of common interest to them.
This coming Saturday (October 15, 2011), at 6:15pm Central in the Alumni
Commons, Agnes Kovacs (Associate Director of Lay Degree Programs) and I will give a short presentation on lay ecclesial
ministry, specifically the theology behind the Church’s recognition of this as
an authentic ministerial vocation, and also the steps the Church has taken (and
has yet to take) to order and authorize this relatively new form of service in
the Church. There will be plenty of opportunity for informal discussion, Jack’s
will be open, and snacks will be provided. Please consider stopping by! No
reservations necessary. For more information, email Kyle Kramer.
