Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology, St. Meinrad, IN, will host a day of reflection for lay ministers on Friday, March 24, 2017.
Dr. Barbara Sutton will provide insight into how those living the vocation of a lay ecclesial minister interpret their experience, especially in light of the 10th anniversary of the publication of the document Co-Workers in the Vineyard.
The Words and Images exhibit, on display in the Saint Meinrad Archabbey Library, will provide a starting point for reflection by engaging the imagination through an artistic process of collaging and writing. Participants will practice exploring their experiences of ministry through the creative use of words and images.
Dr. Sutton is an adjunct professor of theology at Saint John’s School of Theology and Seminary, Collegeville, MN, where she has been the coordinator of field education from 2007-2016. She has taught courses in parish administration, pastoral ministry and ministry on the margins. She earned a doctor of ministry degree from Saint Paul Seminary and School of Divinity.
The day of reflection will be from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Central Time, at the Archabbey Guest House and Retreat Center. Parking is available in the Guest House parking lot.
The registration cost of $25 includes lunch, refreshments and retreat materials.
