Internationally recognized artist, G. E. Mullan, known by many as “Buddy”, passed away on October 27, 2015. An extraordinary man of faith, he lived by the principle that art and faith nurture each other. As a founding parishioner of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, he shared his gifts of design throughout the parish for 35 years. He collaborated in the design of the church sanctuary, designed the stained glass windows depicting The Canticle of the Sun, and was a member of the first RCIA team. With his wife, he founded Pilgrimage of Art and Faith, providing hundreds of pilgrims the opportunity to explore historical, cultural and holy places in Israel, Italy, Ireland, France, Spain, and Turkey. For the last 20 years, he worked exclusively in sacred art, designing missal covers for World Library Publications, creating commemorative commissioned pieces for religious institutions and publishing Canticle: Biblical Songs Illuminated in collaboration with renowned story-teller, John Shea. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Celina Rios-Mullan, and numerous family members.
