Mr. George Charles “Woody” Schupp, age 76, of Ekron, KY, passed away on Monday, January 9, 2023, at Baptist Health Hardin in Elizabethtown. Woody was born January 28, 1946, the son of George Charles, Sr. and Agnes Celestine (Popham) Schupp.
Woody was a long time parishioner of St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. He was a very loving man who never met a stranger. He always let his friends know how he felt by saying “I love you” whether that person was male or female. He was an avid Louisville Cardinal fan, and loved serving as “Equipment Manager” for the Meade County Greenwave football team.
Woody was preceded in death by his parents; his only sister, Pat Leahy; and his nephew, Stevie Leahy. He is survived by his loving wife, Jeannie Schupp; three daughters, Heather Schupp, Lauren (C.J.) Kirk, and Emily (Jack) Hirschman; six grandchildren, Caleb and Brady Bratcher, Max Miller, Kix Kirk, Nolan and Luke Hirschman; his brother-in-law, Pat Leahy; two nieces, Kathy (Joe) Purvis, Carol (Michael) Smith; and his nephew, Michael (Theresa) Leahy.
