Paul V. Shanahan 85, Indianapolis, passed away on Saturday, March 21, 2015. He was born in Indianapolis on June 19, 1929 to John and Cecelia Carroll Shanahan. Paul was a 1947 graduate of Cathedral High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.He began working as a cable splicer for Indiana Bell/Ameritech and worked there for 41 years before retiring in 1989 as a purchasing manager. Paul was a member of Holy Name Catholic Church where he was a dedicated and loyal servant involved in many parish ministries. He was a union officer in the CWA (Communication Workers of America), member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, served on the board of directors of Our Lady of Grace, member of the Kevin Barry Division of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, and member of the Knights of Columbus Monsignor Downey Council 3660.Paul was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine M. Fitzgerald Shanahan; his infant sons, Michael and Joseph; and his brothers, John and Vince. He is survived by his children, Sally Edington (Ned) of Fort Wayne, Kathy Weisenbach (Mark) of Indianapolis, Terry Schonhoff (Mark) of St. Louis MO, Maureen Okerson (Jim) of Indianapolis
