Richard John Elworth, 83 a resident of House, New Mexico for the past 33 years passed away on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at his home following an illness. He was born August 3, 1941 in Kaukauna, Wisconsin to the home of Clarence Joseph and Stella Marie (StCyr) Elworth.
Richard attended college at Saint Meinrad Seminary School of Theology in Indiana. He moved from Wisconsin to California in 1967. He and Ann made House, New Mexico their home in the early 90’s.
Richard enjoyed gardening and reading. He loved doing woodworking, and created many furniture pieces. He was a beekeeper for several years while living in California. He was dedicated to his daily devotional prayers. He and Ann attended St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner.
Richard is preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include his wife Ann Gellis of House, New Mexico, two daughters Erika Heranic (Jeff) of Lake Elsinore, CA, and Teri Jamison of Sacramento, CA, a step daughter Catherine Stiles Betts of Lompoc, CA, two brothers Dennis Elworth (Emese) of Appleton, Wisconsin, Allen Elworth (Janet) of Weyauwega, Wisconsin, one sister Phyllis O’Brien (Buddy) of Brighton, Michigan along with 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
