Charles (Sonny) Phillip Hubbs was born on October 20, 1933 in Tell City Indiana. His parents were Charles T. Hubbs and Esther Strahl Hubbs. He passed away peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at the home of Clay and Kimberley Hubbs in Parker, CO. He was 84.Charlie grew up in and around Tell City and was the oldest of 13 children. He obtained a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Evansville College. He married Carolyn Esther Boger also from Tell City on June 30, 1956. He adored his wife and never did quite fully recover from her passing in 2007.Charlie began working as an engineer for General Electric in Owensboro, KY. He became the manager of Quality Assurance and continued his career in Decatur Il, Boston MA, Bridgeport CT and Philadelphia PA. Charlie then moved to Greeneville, Tennessee to manage Quality Assurance for Philips and eventually retired there. He moved back to Tell City, Indiana in 2007.Charlie traveled the world in his career but the most important thing to him was his family. Vacations were spent with his family at both the B-Hive cabin in Santa Claus and the Leopold cabin. He enjoyed fishing, telling stories, and joking with friends. He was also an avid fan of college football, NASCAR, martinis, and golf.Charles is survived by his three sons, Charles (wife Stephanie), Craig, and Clay (wife Kimberley), 5 grandchildren (Katharine, Charles, Hayden, Jordyn, Devyn) and 3 great-grandchildren (Ellie, Abygail, Stephen Charles (Chip)).
