Charles was born November 15, 1937 in Indianapolis to the late Charles and Frances Uehlein Koehler. He married Pauline Moore on May 14, 1966 in Washington, D.C., where he was serving in the U.S. Navy. He studied at Saint Meinrad Seminary in southern Indiana and Blue Cloud Abbey monastery in Blue Cloud, South Dakota. He was employed over 50 years by Marian, Inc. and was president of M. Ross Masson Co., at the time of his death. Joe was an active member of St. Jude Catholic Church and served St. Vincent De Paul for many years. Survivors include his wife Pauline; children Beth (Jerry) Koehler Richert, Sarah (Kevin) Kale, Rebecca (Dan) Elsener, and Justin (Erin) Koehler; and 13 grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his brothers John and Michael Koehler and his grandson Gabriel Jay Kale. Joe was an avid hobbyist who enjoyed gardening, tropical and saltwater aquariums, photography, music and landscaping. Visitation will be 4:00 G╟⌠ 8:00 PM, Friday, December 30, in St. Jude Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 31, at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Meinrad Seminary.From the Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center.
