Charles “Chuck” H. Kranz (June 19, 1931 – September 29, 2014) Charles Chuck” Herman Kranz, 83, passed away on September 29, 2014 at his home in Mundelein, Illinois. He was born on June 19, 1931, in Evanston, Illinois to Dietrich and Crescentia Kranz. Chuck’s early childhood was spent in Morton Grove, Illinois. His family eventually moved to Barrington, Illinois where he attended and graduated from Barrington High School in 1949. Barrington High School was where his love for football began. After high school Chuck attended Bradley University in Peoria, Illinois, where he studied Physical Education. Chuck was very active in the Newman Club at Bradley. Chuck studied at St. Bede’s and St. Meinrad, until he found his true vocation, which was creating a family with his beloved Sarah.Chuck taught high school at Loyola Academy, North Chicago High School and Libertyville High School. Chuck truly enjoyed teaching high school and coaching football, wrestling and track. He loved his students and players. Chuck married Sarah on November 24, 1960, in Ottawa, Illinois. They were happily married for almost 54 years. Sarah was his light and his love. Chuck was a member of Santa Maria del Popolo Church for over 50 years. Chuck’s greatest joy was his family. Chuck is survived by his wife, Sarah and his 7 children: John, Mary (Dan), Teresa (Bill), Joe (Fernando), Sarah Cay (Heidi), Jim (Tina) and Charlie (Caroline); he loved his grandchildren with all his heart: Shanna, Britney, Ashley and their mother Kelly; Erik, Eimile, Annika, Henry, Anthony, Veronica, Liam, Elliot, Oscar and Bernadette; great-granddaughter Ava; Chuck leaves behind his brother, John (Janie) and his three sisters, Dorothy, Carol and Ruthie. Chuck now is in the warm embrace of Jesus. His precious granddaughter, Isabella, greeted him in heaven, as did his Goddaughter, Donna; his nephew Michael; his Mom and Dad and many dear friends and extended family.
