Charles S. Moxley, 85, entered into God’s eternal care Sunday, April 15, 2007, at Hanover Hall Nursing Center. He was the husband of Marie H. (Henry) Moxley who died December 6, 2003. He was born August 22, 1921, in Westminster, MD, the son of the late Margaret (Starner) Moxley. Charles was a 1940 graduate of Westminster High School. He was a member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Hanover, the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2506, Hanover, the American Legion Post No. 14 in Hanover for over 46 years, and a life member of the Moose Lodge No. 227 of Hanover. Mr. Moxley enlisted in the U.S. Army in October 1942, serving in WWII. During this time he received the Good Conduct Medal and the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with five Bronze Service Stars. Mr. Moxley was honorably discharged September 11, 1945. He retired in 1983 from Snyder’s of Hanover after 12 years of service in sales and delivery. Prior to this, he was employed by Utz Snack Food Company of Hanover. Upon his retirement, Charles was employed as a part time driver for Rabbit Transit of Hanover.Charles is survived by one son, Stephen C. Moxley and his wife, Brenda R. of Hanover, two granddaughters, Michelle L. Sherman and her husband, Todd of Hanover, and Melissa S. Leathery and her husband, Richard of Hanover; two greatgrandchildren, McKenzie Sherman of Hanover, and Shae Leathery of Hanover; and one sister, Kathryn Morehead and her husband, Paul of Littlestown. The family suggests that memorial contributions may be made in Charle’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, 3544 N.
