Charles Richard Bowling died November 4, 2023 in Fairfax (VA) Hospital after suffering a fall and developing pneumonia.
Dick was born November 20, 1934 in Gethsemane, Kentucky and lived his last few years at the Chesterbrook Residences in Falls Church, Virginia. He was editor of the facility’s monthly newsletter The Restful Resident.
Although Dick left the active priesthood in the 1960s, he remained a faithful servant to the Church through Ignatian Volunteer Corps, and PAX, an Intentional Eucharistic Community in the Washington, DC area. He enjoyed a second career as a school counselor.
Dick was one of eight siblings and is survived by three of them, as well as many nieces and nephews.
