Daniel Raymond Grafton, 65, Martinsville, was called home with his loving family by his side at 6:15 a.m. on Monday, July 9, 2012 at the Community Hospital South in Indianapolis. He is now at peace. He was born on Thursday, November 7, 1948 in Washington, Indiana, to the late Ralph William and Ada Marie (McKinney) Grafton. Daniel was a graduate of St. John’s Catholic High School in Loogootee, Indiana. After high school he served ten years in the United States Navy, of which he served two tours during the Vietnam War. After being medically discharged he earned his Master’s Degree from Indiana University. He retired as manager from the Circle “S” Gas Station; prior to that he had worked at Crystal Flash, Thornton’s, Golden Corral, Burger King, Twigg Corporation and Crane Naval Center. Survivors are his wife, Terri Lynn (Flake) Grafton, whom he married on September 22, 1989; son, Nelson William Grafton and wife Tabitha of Martinsville; daughter, Marie Danielle Grafton and special friend Josh Edgerton of Martinsville; grandchildren, Tyler William Grafton, Caitlin Paige Grafton and Lucas Christopher Grafton all of Martinsville; sister, Mary Joyce Grafton Bell of Indianapolis; mother-in-law, Thelma Marie Flake of Martinsville; sister-in-laws, Kathy Flake and Sherry Noragon and husband Terry all of Martinsville and Rita Underwood Grafton of Loogootee; very special lady, Susie Scott of New Whiteland. He was also preceded in death his first wife, Patricia Ann (Nelson) Grafton; brother, Mike Grafton; father-in-law, Charles Flake. “
