Daniel Joseph Daly, age 87, of Indianapolis, passed away on Sunday, October 3, 2021. He was born December 26, 1933 in Beech Grove to the late Lawrence Francis Daly, Sr. and Hazel Katherine (Biggs) Daly. Daniel married the love of his life, Velma “Toddy” Daly, on April 19, 1958 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Dan was a 1952 graduate of Cathedral High School prior to serving in the United States Navy for two years. After his military service he worked for Indiana Bell, later Ameritech and then AT&T, for 42 years prior to retirement. Dan and Toddy were members for over 30 years of Holy Cross Catholic Church prior to its closure by the Archdiocese.
Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years, Velma “Toddy” Holzer Daly; daughters, Ann T. Daly and Mary C. Daly; brother, Thomas M. Daly; sister, Mary Ann Maruska (Brian Donnelly). He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Lawrence F. Daly, Jr.
