Mr. David Lee Chambliss, age 43 of Murfreesboro, TN, died January 23, 2015 at his home.He graduated from the University of Maryville and received his masters from George Washington University. He was an editor for the Murfreesboro Sun and the director for Beasley Animal Humane Foundation. He was known for his excellent cooking, affectious smile, awesome writing skills and selfless attitude. He was devoted teacher.He was survived by his children, Andrew, age 24; Tyler, age 22; Savannah, age 18; Ivye, age 15; and Thomas, age 9, his mother, Anna Chambliss; 2 sisters, Patricia (Lyndal) Duke and Lois (James) Caffy. Also surviving are 2 nieces, Samantha (Nick) Gallina and Mallory (Brandon) Zimmerman; his nephews, Andrew (Crystal) Messick, Gary Whitworth and Christopher (Morgan) Messick; and 2 great-nieces, Myla Zimmerman and Olivia Gallina.David was preceded in death by his father, former Murfreesboro Chief of Police, William I. “Buddy” Chambliss; a brother, United States Naval Officer William Chambliss; sister, Mamye Chambliss; and two nephews, John Michael Messick, and Brian Patrick Messick.Visitation will be Tuesday, January 27, 2015 4-8 p.m. at Murfreesboro Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at 11 a.m. in the Chapel of Murfreesboro Funeral Home.
