David was born in Pittsburgh, PA, to Joseph (d. 1979) and Henrietta (Soroczynski) Kwait (d. 2003). He attended grade school at St. George’s Parish and graduated from St. Elizabeth’s High School. David attended Saint Meinrad Seminary in Indiana, and graduated from Duquesne University. He enjoyed a 30 year career with the Federal Bureau of Investigation, serving in New Orleans, Chicago, Pittsburgh and Washington, PA. He retired from the FBI as a Supervisory Special Agent, and became the first Director of the newly established Office of Municipal Investigations for the City of Pittsburgh. He later served as Chief of the Bureau of Criminal Investigations for the Pennsylvania Attorney General for 8 years, and spent an additional 3 years as the Director of Investigations for the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board. David retired in 2008, and enjoyed traveling, spending time with his grandchildren, and being a loving husband. He is survived by his wife, Diana Reed; five children, Michelle, Joe, LeeAnn, Philip and David; grandchildren Carter, Colby and Conrad; siblings Robert, Mary Ellen and Roseanne. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, March 31st, at 10:00AM in St. Patrick’s Cathedral, 212 State Street, Harrisburg, PA 17101 with Rev. Thomas Rozman and Rev. John Osterly as celebrants. Viewing will be held on Friday evening, March 30th, from 6:00 G╟⌠ 8:00PM, in the Hoover Funeral Home & Crematory, Inc., Hershey. Burial will be in the Hershey Cemetery following the Mass.
