Deacon Clarence Robert “Bob” Markert, 82 of Louisville passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 25, 2024.

He was born on July 14, 1941 to the late John Robert Markert and Lillian Rose Thomas Markert.

He was ordained as a Deacon in 1976, having served in St. Ann Catholic Church, St. Thomas More Catholic Church, and Incarnation Catholic Church. He served as Chaplain for Presentation Academy and Chaplain of the Holy Innocent’s Section in Calvary Cemetery.

He worked as a stained-glass artist, was a member and was elected a Fellow of the Stained-Glass Association of America.

Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his daughter, Mary Ann Markert; granddaughter, Nola Rubin; sister, Virginia Kremer; and brothers, Gary Markert and Norman Markert.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Patricia “Patsy” Ann Hofmann Markert; children, Michelle Markert (Dan Rubin), David Markert, Joseph Markert (Erika), James Markert (Tracy); grandchildren, Loretta and Jonathan Rubin; Aaron, Elizabeth, and Ethan Markert; Jacob, Megan, Madeline, Julianna, and Rebekah Markert; Ryan and Molly Markert; sister, Marcia Vause (Charlie); sisters-in-law, Tammy Markert, Ruby Markert; and brother-in-law, Phil Kremer.
