Donald Leo Gruneisen, 80, passed away on May 12, 2014. Born on March 11, 1934 in Louisville, he moved to Pompano Beach, FL in 1974. He graduated from St. Mary’s College and was a veteran who served with the US Army. After his 26-year career as a circulation manager with the Miami Herald he worked tirelessly in service of worthy charities, most notably Habitat for Humanity. He leaves behind his loving wife of 53 years, Lois Gruneisen; four children, Linda, Kenneth, Ellen and Donald, who gave him three grandchildren, Araceli, Gina and August.
