Donald W. (Don) Taylor passed away May 3, 2014 at St. Mary’s Hospital. He was born June 2, 1928 in Evansville. Don attended school and graduated from Saint Meinrad. A Mass will be there at a later date.Don moved to California with his mother and joined the Navy. After serving four years, Don went to work for the Los Angeles Co. Sheriff’s Dept for thirty six years. In retirement, Don returned to Evansville. He was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church and a lifetime member of Einsiedeln Society. Don requested in lieu of a funeral to be cremated. Mass will be given by Father Ted Temple on Friday May 9th at 4:30pm at Willow Park Retirement Center Chapel – 5050 Lincoln Ave Evansville, IN 47715.Don was very fun loving and never met a stranger. He will be missed by family and the many friends he had at Willow Park Retirement Center.Preceded in death by his mother Agnus Taylor; cousins Kenneth E. Taylor, Ruth Ann Tripp and Mike Costello. Is survived by one aunt, Betty Taylor; cousins Jeannine Bohn of Cincinnati, OH, Marcia and Byron Vandiver, Pam Costello, Patty Chandler, Carolyn Sue Durbin, Steve and Debbie Taylor all of Evansville, Phyllis and Lindy Jones of North Carolina, Patty and Richard Sullivan, Larry, Pam and Eddie Schneider of California.The family wishes to thank Father Ted Temple, all of the doctors, nurses and all who took such good care of Don during his many admissions to St. Mary’s Hospital. Also Nancy McWaters, Ed Dugas, and Karen and Chuck Bigelow at Willow Park for always being there for Don and his family.
