Fr. Adolph M. Egloff, 99, of Vincennes, passed into eternal life on Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014, at his residence.He was born June 3, 1915 in Vincennes, the son of Adolph J. and Catherine G. (Schnaus) Egloff. He entered the priesthood and was ordained on May 14, 1940, at St. Meinrad Seminary, and celebrated his first mass on May 19, 1940, at his home parish, Sacred Heart Catholic Church. His first assignment was at the St. Vincent Orphanage. He served at St. John Church, St. Mary’s in New Albany, St. Boniface in Evansville, All Saints in Cannelburg and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Princeton until his retirement in 1975. He assisted at several parishes in the Evansville diocese with pastoral work until ill health prevented his pastoral duties.He is survived by one sister, Olive LeClaire of Riverdale, Ill.; and his nieces and nephews John McClellan of Wheatfield, Leonard LeClaire of Homewood, Ill., Marie Channa of Milipitas, Calif., Fr. Keith McClellan of Michigan City and Kathryn Hollahan of Sugar Grove, Ill.He was preceded in death by his parents; his sisters Frances Draim, Betty R. McClellan, Catherine Doll, and Sister Mary Adolph, OSB; one niece, Therese Marie Draim; and one nephew, Fr. David Draim, OSB.
