Rev. Edward F. Rupp was born on November 1, 1934, in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Edward A. and Lucille (nee Brickman). He was the oldest sibling of Gerald, Daniel, Mary Lou (deceased), Robert and the late Ronnie and Robbie.
Fr. Rupp was ordained on May 28, 1960, and would faithfully fulfill his duties as a priest at a number of parishes including St. Ann from 1960-1964; St. John Bosco from 1964-1970; St. Agnes from 1970-1973; St. Ignatius of Antioch from 1973-1982; St. Vincent de Paul in Akron from 1982-1983 and finally as the fourth pastor of St. Vincent de Paul in Cleveland from 1983-1994.
Known for being a wonderful man, he was always willing to help anyone who needed assistance. Many of the parishes he served remain open today because of his dedication and ability to raise funds.
He always enjoyed the company of his family and friends and was known for his get-togethers, especially his cookouts. Christmas was very important to him and he was always proudly shopping year-round for presents for his nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
Fr. Rupp passed away on March 29, 2019, at the age of 84 after a brief illness. Private services were held.
He will forever be missed by those who knew and loved him. The world has become a little sadder without him bringing joy and happiness to all those who cared for him.
A devoted son, brother, uncle and friend.
