With hope in the resurrection, we commend to the Lord Reverend Edward Joseph Hussli who died on Nov. 18, 2012 at the age of 82.He was born on Sept. 17, 1930 in Beaver Dam, the son of Joseph and Thresa (Feckter) Hussli. He attended St. Peter’s School and the Beaver Dam High School. After his schooling he served in the United States Navy for four years. He then attended the University of Wisconsin at Madison for three years. Father Hussli began his priestly formation at Saint Meinrad Seminary in 1961, and completed his studies at St. Norbert Abbey from 1964-1967. He was ordained by the Most Reverend Roman R. Atkielski, Auxiliary Bishop, Archdiocese of Milwaukee for the Cistercian, on August 24, 1967 at Spring Bank Abbey in Oconomowoc.Father Hussli was incardinated into the Archdiocese of Milwaukee on January 1, 1975. Prior to his incardination, Father served several Archdiocese of Milwaukee parishes as an associate pastor. Presentation of the Blessed Virgin Mary, North Fond du Lac (appointed February 4, 1969), St. Mary’s Parish, Waukesha (appointed June 16, 1970), St. Nicholas Parish, Milwaukee (appointed August 25, 1970), and St. Edward Parish, Racine (appointed October 13, 1970). On June 19, 1979, Father Hussli was appointed the associate pastor of St. Agnes in Butler. He began his first pastorate on June 17, 1986 at Our Lady of Good Hope Parish in Milwaukee, and on July 1, 1988 he was appointed the pastor of Holy Family Parish in Reeseville, with a Mission of St. Columbkille, Elba. Father retired from active ministry on September 30, 1998. He spent his retirement years in Clam Lake and was the regular help-out for the past 14 years at Most Precious Blood Parish in Glidden, WI and at St. George Church in Clam Lake.Father Hussli is survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Theresa Fecter; three brothers: Joseph in 1979, Michael in 1995, and Frank in 1997; five sisters: one in infancy, Anne Franke in 1987, Blanche Ellis in 1995, Rose Beattie in 1998, and Theresa Mack in 2004.A Concelebrated Mass of Christian Burial for Father Hussli will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 26, 2012 at Most Precious Blood Parish in Glidden. Priest friends and colleagues are invited to concelebrate, please bring a white stole and alb.A visitation will be held at the parish on Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral liturgy.A memorial service will also be held at St. Katharine Drexel Parish in Beaver Dam at a later date.Members of the Purgatorial Society will please offer prescribed Masses for the repose of his soul and include Fr.
