Rev. Frank W. Kocik, Parochial Vicar at St. Mary of the Assumption Church and St. Paul’s Church of Binghamton, died on Saturday, December 5, 2020 at his home. He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas J. and Josephine (Stirpe) Kocik, brother James, and niece Kim Snider; sister-in-law Dorothy Kocik. He is survived by his sister, Loretta Kocik; brothers Thomas F., John (Linda), and Richard Kocik; nephews Rev. Thomas M. Kocik, KHS, and Michael (Kate) Kocik; nieces Dare Marie (Erik) LaSalle, Jamie (Clayton) Culp, Elizabeth (Jon) Zimmerman; grandnephews Ryan (Samantha) Snider, Calvin and Julian Culp, Wally Zimmerman; grandnieces Isabella, Wylie and Fenway LaSalle, Nola Mae Culp, Parker Zimmerman; step-grandnephews William and Troy Bauma; great-grandniece and -nephew Shae Marie and Bronx Snider.

Fr. Kocik graduated from Binghamton North High School and then studied for the priesthood at Immaculate Conception Seminary in Darlington, NJ. He was ordained a Priest on May 17, 1976 at St. Bridget’s in Glassboro, NJ, ministered in the Diocese of Camden 1976-1980, and was Parochial Vicar and Administrator of St. Patrick of the Island in Pincourt, Quebec 1980-2004 He then moved back to his home in Binghamton to serve at St. Mary of the Assumption and St. Paul’s Parishes.
