Fr. Lenahan, 86, died at Sacred Heart Village Nursing Home. He was born February 11, 1924 in Louisville, KY; he retired on June 20, 1990 as a Catholic priest. He was ordained on June 11, 1949. He was a teacher and chaplain at Flaget High School from 1949-1955; assistant pastor at St. William in 1950; teacher at Trinity High School from 1955-1962; assistant pastor at Holy Trinity in 1955; assistant pastor at St. Barnabas in 1959; assistant pastor at St. James, Louisville in 1962; administrator at St. Bernard, Clementsville in 1964, then 1966-1967; pastor at St. Clement from 1967-1982; pastor at St. Aloysius, Shepherdsville in 1982; chaplain at Little Sisters of the Poor from 1991-1996; chaplain at Ryken House-St. Xavier in 1994. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Edward Lenahan Sr. and Martha Alice Shell; brothers, James Patrick and Thomas F. Lenahan; sisters, Martha Joseph Lenahan, Frances Knopf and Jane Smothers. He is survived by his brother, Joseph E. Jr.; sisters, Agnes White and Shirley Marcum, who cared for him.
