Father John C. Reynolds, 58, of Kansas City, KS, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2021.
John was born June 9, 1962, in Leavenworth, KS. He was a graduate of Shawnee Mission Northwest, he attended the University of Oklahoma and graduated from Saint Meinrad College and Saint Meinrad Seminary and School of Theology. Father John was an Eagle Scout, 3rd Degree of the Knights of Columbus, a birder, chaplain for the Boy Scouts, and an outdoorsman (he loved camping, fishing and hiking). Upon becoming a priest, he had several parish assignments in the decades that followed to include: he was associate pastor at Most Pure Heart of Mary, Holy Cross and Prince of Peace parishes, pastor at Sacred Heart, Paxico, Holy Family, Alma and St. John Vianney, Eskridge, Holy Name, Topeka, St. Joseph, Nortonville, Immaculate Conception, Valley Falls and Corpus Christi, Mooney Creek, St. Vincent de Paul, Onaga, St. Bede, Kelly and St. Patrick, Corning, then he was associate at Prince of Peace, finally he offered sacramental assistance at Cathedral, Blessed Sacrament, Christ the King, and Our Lady and St. Rose.
Father John is survived by his parents Glenn and Virginia Reynolds, sisters Rebecca Naylor and her children Kathryn, Russell, Aaron and Matthew, Barbara Holinaty, Kathleen (Travis) Scott and their children Ian and Spencer, Nancy (David, Jr.) Pennock and their children Carly, Abby, Shylee. He loved spending time with his family, especially his nieces and nephews.
