Rev. John L. McMullen passed away 11/24/13 in Fort Lauderdale, FL after a brief illness. He was born 8/25/20 in Toledo, OH. Father McCullen was ordained as a Catholic Priest at St. Meinrad Seminary in 1944. After ordination, Father McCullen became a Parish Priest and Pastor in Fremont and Lima, OH. His health resulted in the move to South Florida. In addition to his clerical responsibilities, Father McCullen began a secular career as a college professor of Social Science. After obtaining his MA Degree at the University of Miami, he taught at St. Leo’s, University of Florida, FAU, and Santa Fe Community College. During this period he spent summers in Broward County as a visiting Priest for vacationing colleagues. Father McCullen’s final Parish was St. Ambrose in Deerfield Beach, FL, where he celebrated his 60 year ordination anniversary in 2004. He is survived by his nephews, John, Robert (Cynthia), niece, Anne. Father McCullen touched the lives of countless students and parishioners.
