A native of Nashville, Tennessee, Father Kevin professed vows as a Benedictine monk of St. Bernard Abbey on July 7, 1968, and was ordained to the priesthood on May 27, 1974. He served the abbey, our schools, the sisters of Sacred Heart Monastery, the Diocese of Birmingham, and the city of Cullman in a variety of roles over the years, including pastor of Cullman, sheriff chaplain, headmaster of the prep school, novice master, and prior to three different abbots. He was beloved by many alumni, friends of the abbey, and parishioners in Cullman and beyond. Suffering from poor health for quite some time, he died at Cullman Regional Medical Center around 1:00 a.m. on November 23, 2019, with Abbot Marcus at his side.
