Gelthaus, Rev. Larry,60, passed away, December 22nd, 2017 at his home in Edmonton, KY.Born in Louisville on April 26, 1957, Father Larry was a son of the late Harry and Ruth Boesing Gelthaus.He did his undergraduate work at the University of Louisville, and received his Master’s in Divinity from St. Meinrad School of Theology. Father was ordained into the priesthood on May 28, 1988.Throughout his years serving as a priest, Father Larry first served as the associate pastor at St. Helen, St. Francis of Assisi and St. Raphael Churches. He then spent the last 19 years serving as the pastor at Emmanuel Church, Albany; Holy Cross, Burkesville; and presently serving Christ the Healer, Edmonton and Christ the Redeemer, Tompkinsville. He began a Spanish Ministry at these parishes. In all, Father Larry has served the Archdiocese for a total of 29 years in the priesthood.He is survived by his siblings, twin brother Father Harry Gelthaus, Stephen Gelthaus (Debby), Rose Michal, Janice Knoop (John), Terri Hogge (Allen) and Carol Grossman (Dan), and many nieces and nephews.
