Father Miller, 89, Lafayette, died at the Franciscan Health, St. Elizabeth East in Lafayette.He was born March 3, 1922, in Elwood, the son of the late Claude M. and Josephine A. Mack Miller.Father Miller was a graduate of Elwood High School, Loras College in Dubuque, IA, and Saint Meinrad Seminary, St. Meinrad, IN. He was ordained July 1, 1949, and was named associate pastor at the Cathedral of St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception in Lafayette in 1949. In 1953, he became the first resident pastor at St. Elizabeth in Lucerne and chaplain at Logansport State Hospital; in 1958, pastor at Immaculate Conception parish in Portland; in 1967, pastor at St. John the Evangelist, Hartford City; in 1972, pastor at St. Vincent DePaul in Logansport; in 1984, pastor at St. Patrick in Kokomo; in 1994, senior associate at St. Ann in Lafayette; and in 2002, he was granted retirement, with residence at St. Ann in Lafayette.He has no immediate survivors, but is survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.He was preceded in death by three brothers, Joseph, Robert and James Hunt; and by two sisters, Mary Holiday and Genevieve Burke.Memories and condolences may be left at www.hahngroeberfuneralhome.comInformation obtained from the Kokomo Tribune online, www.kokomotribune.com
