FATHER PAUL H. MILLER, 99, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 13, 2016, at Saint Anne Home & Retirement Community, Fort Wayne. Born Oct. 3, 1916, in Huntington, Ind., he was a son of the late Ira O. and Mary (McNulty) Miller. He was a member of Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Legion of Mary; Knights of Columbus and served on the Diocesan Liturgical Committee. He attended St. Mary School, in Huntington, Ind.; St Joseph College, in Rensselaer, Ind.; and Seminary in Saint Meinrad, in St. Meinrad, Ind. He was ordained to the Priesthood on June 3, 1944 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception, Fort Wayne, by Bishop John F. Noll. From July 5, 1944 to Dec. 1, 1956, he served as assistant Pastor for the following Parishes: St. Mary Church, East Chicago; St. Paul Church, Valparaiso; Our Lady of Hungary, South Bend; St John the Baptist Church, New Haven; and St Vincent de Paul Church, Elkhart. From Dec. 1, 1956 he served as Pastor for the following Parishes: St. Patrick Church, Largo; St. Robert Bellarmine Mission Church, North Manchester; St. Michael Church, Waterloo; St. Rose of Lima Church, Monroeville; St. John the Baptist Church, New Haven; Spiritual Director of the Blue Army of Our Lady of Fatima; and St. Rose of Lima, Monroeville. In 1988, he served as Associate Pastor of Holy Family, South Bend. After serving the Fort Wayne South Bend Diocese for 60+ years, he retired in 1992. Surviving are a sisters, Genevieve Kasper of Columbia City, Pat Hay Huntington, Ind., Helen Martin, Modesto, Calif.; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Robert, James, William, and Edward; sisters, Ann Berger, Jeanne Young, Francis Bonewitz, and Marguerite Hyser.
