Rev. Quintin Timothy Heck, age 42, of Milwaukee, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, August 30, 2013 at his residence.Quintin was born February 8, 1971 to Kenneth and Annette (nee Schellinger) Heck of Rubicon, Wisconsin. He attended St. Lawrence High School, Mt. Calvary, Wisconsin, Minor Seminary in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Saint Meinrad Seminary in Indiana, and Mount St. Mary’s in Emmitsburg, Maryland.Quintin was ordained in Fargo, North Dakota in May of 2000. He served at St. Anthony’s for one year and then transferred to the Milwaukee diocese. He served the parishes of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Menomonee Falls; St. Dominic’s Catholic Church, Brookfield; St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, Greenfield; and was also Chaplain at Zablocki VA Medical Center for the last two years.The last two months he suffered from a reoccurring childhood disease (a rare form of polio) and depression. Quintin enjoyed life and found fulfillment in serving those in need, especially those who were suffering and ill. He will be remembered in the hearts of all those whom he comforted and helped throughout his service in the priesthood.Quintin is survived by his loving mother, Annette Heck; beloved siblings, Mary Heck, Paula (Scott) Werner, Michael (Sharon) Heck, twins Janine (William)Van Ark and Jeff Heck, Suzanne (Marty) Pankow, Thomas (Kim) Heck, and Sheldon (Nicole) Heck; and further survived by many nieces, nephews, other dear relatives and friends.He was preceded in death by his father Kenneth Heck, his brother Timothy Heck, and dear uncle, Fr. Rodger Heck.Mass of Christian Burial for Fr. Quintin will be held on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 7:00 p.m. at the Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary, Help of Christians, at Holy Hill. (1525 Carmel Road, Hubertus) Family will greet relatives and friends at the Basilica of the National Shrine of Mary on Friday, September 6, 2013 from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m.
