Father Holmgren, age 81, a retired priest of the Catholic Diocese of Rockford and former longtime pastor of St. Mary’s Parish, East Dubuque, IL, died at the Stonehill Care Center, Dubuque, IA. Beloved son of the late Raymond and Mary, nee Barrett, Holmgren; dear brother of John P. (Patricia) Holmgren and Geraldine Ann (Lawrence) O’Connor; dear uncle of Susan (Kevin) Riordan, Carole (Ronald) Weidhuner, Jeff (Janet) Holmgren, David (Rebecca) Holmgren, Janet (Daniel) Ricker and James (Laurie) Holmgren; and 15 great-nieces and nephews.
