Visitation will be Wednesday, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Andale starting at 11 a.m.; Rosary 6:30 p.m. Wednesday; Funeral Mass 10:30 a.m. Thursday, all at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Bishop Michael O. Jackels celebrating. Father Eck was born Oct. 20, 1924, in St. Joe, Ost, Kan. Father Eck was ordained in his home parish June 8, 1950 by Bishop Mark K. Carroll. Over the past 62 years, he has served many parishes in the Wichita Diocese. Preceded in death by parents, John P. and Anna Thimmesch Eck; brothers, Alphons, Urban, Father Vincent, Rusty, Joseph; sister, Mary Scripsick. Survivors: brothers, Rev. Ivan C. Eck of Ost, George E. and wife, Joyce Eck of McClean, Texas; sisters, JoAnn Becker of Garden Plain, Ida Rau of Wichita; 40 nieces and nephews; 155 great nieces and nephews; 134 great-great nieces and nephews.
