Mr. Frank J. Erdosy, age 80, of Richmond, Indiana, died Saturday, December 17, 2022, at his home.

Born September 3, 1942, in Richmond, Indiana, to Frank Erdosy Sr. and Julia A. Demeter Erdosy. Frank was a life-long resident of this community. Frank attended 9th and 10th grade at Saint Meinrad Seminary, 11th and 12th grade at Richmond High School, graduating in 1960. Frank was a key punch operator and programmer at AVCO for 10 years, where he had the opportunity to work on the Apollo Space Program. He was a programmer at Kemper Brothers for 7 years and worked as operations manager for RP&L for 28 years, retiring in 2005. Frank was the commissioner for the Richmond Optimist Baseball league, receiving the Optimist of the Year award in 1979. He was the distinguished past president of the Richmond Evening Optimist Club. As president, he initiated the Junior League Baseball and Girls’ Volleyball Leagues. He served as Governor of The Indiana North District Optimist in 1988-89 receiving the Distinguished and Outstanding Governor Award. Frank was a 40-year member of Holy Family Catholic Parish, where he served as head of ushers. Frank was a parish council member, active in CYO. He and his wife DeLane coordinated the Holy Family 50-year Anniversary Celebration in 2004. More than anything Frank loved his family and spending time with his grandchildren.

In 2005, Frank and his wife moved to Lake Santee, in Greensburg, Indiana. While there, he was the President of the Regional Wastewater board. Frank and his wife enjoyed boating. He also enjoyed giving golf cart rides to his grandchildren. In January 2020, they moved back home to the Richmond area.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, DeLane Smith Erdosy; sons, Jeffrey T. (Kim) Erdosy of Richmond, Indiana, Mark A. (Tracy) Erdosy of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Steven D. Erdosy of Noblesville, Indiana; grandchildren, Josh, Jordan, Collie, Matthew, Anna, Nick and Kate; great grandchildren, Ryan, Avery, and Asher; and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
