Franklin W. Berg, 87, of Warsaw, went to meet the Lord on Saturday, January 25, 2020, at 11:55 p.m. in Lake City Place, Warsaw.

He was born on December 1, 1932, to Fidelis and Augusta (Reutman) Berg in Jasper.

He graduated form Jasper High School in 1950.  Franklin proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.  On August 22, 1953 he was united in marriage to Bernice Fetter at Mary Help of Christian Church in Mariah Hill, Indiana.  He settled in Evansville and began working for Mead Johnson in 1957.  After years of night school, he graduated from the University of Evansville in 1972.  In 1973, he accepted a position at Zimmer and moved to Warsaw, Indiana.  He retired from Zimmer in 1990.  Frank was a caring, loving husband as well as a father and a passionate servant of God.  He spent many hours volunteering at Sacred Heart Parish and the Knight of Columbus.  He was proud of his children.  He enjoyed taking his grandchildren out in the boat to “swim in the deep” or watch them play in the channel.  There are many pictures of grandchildren catching their first fish off of his pier.  He was a faithful friend with a quick wit to bring joy and a smile to others.

He leaves behind his loving wife, Bernice Berg of Warsaw; children, Steve (Christi) Berg of Warsaw, Phyllis (Kim) Wheeler of Larwill, Carol (Tony) Staley of South Bend, Sarah (Dennis) Robinson of Warsaw, David (Nicole) Berg of Fort Wayne and Frank (Janet) Berg II of Fishers; sisters, Virginia (Tom) Schnellenberger of Huntingburg and Mary Jane (Ron) Wagner of Brownsburg; 20 grandchildren and over 20 great-great grandchildren also survive; they will miss his smiles and hugs.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2020, at 11 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw.
