Gary R. Roth, 73, of Louisville, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at Baptist Health Louisville. He was deeply loved, and his friends and family held him close in their hearts.

He was born May 5, 1953, in Mojave, California, one of six sons to the late Charles Edward Roth and Lillian “Jane” Filburn Roth. His wife, Lisa Amick and infant brother, Mark preceded him in death.

Gary was a graduate of St. Xavier High School and received his Bachelor of Science in Business and Accounting from the University of Louisville in 1977. Throughout his career, he held several jobs but was best known for his many years at Cotton & Allen and Dean Dorton Allen Ford where he formed lifelong friendships. Gary was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church and the St. Joseph of Arimathea Society Funerals. He also served on the boards of the Franciscan Kitchen and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Kentucky and Southern Indiana Chapter.

In his free time, Gary enjoyed watching sports (especially the UofL Cardinals), reading about history, watching historical films, playing golf and dining with friends. But his true passion was spending time with his grandson Samuel and his canine companion and friend, Bear. Gary will be remembered for his warm laugh, genuine kindness, and quiet generosity.

Gary is survived by his two sons, Mark (Caitlin), Charlie (Olivia); grandson, Samuel; brothers, Thomas R. (Ann Pinski), Charles A. (Nancy), John G. (Tommy) and David J. Roth. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
