Gilbert Lawrence Sievers, 82, Vincennes, passed away on Thursday, September 4, 2014 at the New Willow Manor. Gilbert was born May 7, 1932, in Vincennes, the son of Lester and Mary Ann (Hess) Sievers. He married Lillian Wineinger on August 10, 1974, and she survives him. He was a tool and die maker his entire career at Hurst Manufacturing in Princeton, IN. He retired after 35 years as the manager of the tool and die department. Upon retiring from Hurst Manufacturing, he worked for Sievers and Companies as a Rental Real Estate Manager. Gilbert was a member of Old Cathedral Catholic Church, VFW, American Legion and Knights of Columbus. He also served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was honorably discharged as a staff sergeant. Along with his wife, Lillian, Gilbert is survived by his children, T.H. Cummings and wife Kimber of Longview, TX, Stuart Sievers and wife Barbara of Douglassville, PA, Michael Sievers and wife Carolyn of Vincennes, Sue Ellen Ballard and husband Gary of Noblesville, and Diane Stephens and husband Gary of Knoxville, TN; grandchildren, Jennifer Vail and husband Clint, Dustin Cummings and wife Kacie, Nathan McNeece, Matthew Sievers and wife Maria, Katie Sievers, Stevie Sievers, Stephanie Sievers, Brock Sievers and wife Emily, Dylan Sievers and wife Shannon, Brian Sievers, Richard Ballard, David Ballard, Liza Banich and husband Nick, Claire Sullivan and husband Michael, and Philip Stephens; great-grandchildren, McKenna and Dawson Barker, Jake Vail, Kalie, Caden, and Cooper Cummings, Brock and Hannah McNeece, Ava Sievers, Kyra and Javier Nunez, Addison Sievers, and Gunnar Sievers; brothers, Tony Sievers and wife Lucille of Vincennes, Irvan Sievers of Vincennes, Larry Sievers and wife Ann of St. Paul, MN, Joe Sievers and wife Janet of Newton, IL and Steve Sievers and wife Bev of Birmingham, AL; sisters, Mary Jane Sievers of Martinsville, and Hilda Woodfork and husband Basil of Bloomington.
