Grant Dale Critney, 84, of Auburn, a native of Edinburgh, died at Betz Nursing Home in Auburn.The funeral was conducted July 28 at Feller & Clark Funeral Home in Waterloo, with Father David Carkenord officiating. Burial was at Woodlawn Cemetery in Auburn.Memorial contributions may be made to St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Waterloo or DeKalb Memorial Home Health and Hospice.Mr. Critney worked for Indiana Bell in Auburn, retiring in 1982. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army.Mr. Critney is survived by daughters, Catherine J. (Garold Wayne) Kessler of Auburn and Elizabeth A. Treesh of Waterloo; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Francis J. (Florence) Critney Jr. of Columbus and Robert R. (Ruth) Critney of Tucson, Ariz.; and sisters, Dorothy M. (Roy) Farr of Edinburgh, Patricia M. Foster of Charleston, S.C., and Alice (Robert) Reeves of Columbus.He was preceded in death by his wife, Willene Rapp Critney.Published in the Columbus, IN newspaper, “The Republic,” on July 29, 2010.
