Schaschwary, Helmut J. Age 70, a longtime resident of Naperville, passed away peacefully, Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Season’s Hospice in Naperville. He was born April 27, 1944 in Yugoslavia. Helmut attended Marmion Academy in Aurora and received a bachelor’s degree in history from Northern Illinois University and an engineering degree from Southern Illinois University. He served in the Army during the Vietnam Conflict and worked as an engineer for Knowles Electronics and later for Cisco Systems until his retirement. In his spare time he enjoyed, biking, folk dancing, racquetball, bowling, camping and reading history books. He is survived by his wife, Penelope “Penny” (nee Turner) Schaschwary; children, Julia (John) Kyle, Christopher John Schaschwary and Karen (Mitch) Brinker; one grandson, Philip Kyle and two grandchildren to be born; siblings, Josef, Valentin (Rose), John, Agnes (Tony) Kresz and Adolph (Sue) Schaschwary. He was preceded in death by his parents, Christian and Maria (nee Eppli) and his siblings, Eva, Katherina Speiss and Maria Mussar. Many nieces and nephews.
