James L. Lemond, 93, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2026 at Linda E. White Hospice House. He was born September 18, 1932 in Huntingburg, IN to the late Hilda (Giesler) and Glen Lemond.

Jim graduated from Huntingburg High School and attended University of Evansville. He served in the US Navy during the Korean War. Jim worked for Whirlpool for 33 years, retiring as Manager of Quality Engineering. He was a member of Knights of Columbus, Westside VFW 565, American Legion and Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. Jim loved God, family, traveling, especially with his beloved wife, Evelyn, and had many hobbies, including boating, golfing and attending his many grandchildren’s activities. He was an avid IU Hoosier’s sports fan.

He is survived by his daughters, Kathy (Rusty) Miller and Cheryl Ambrose; son, John (Lori) Lemond; daughter-in-law, Sharon Lemond; grandchildren, Nick (Katie) Miller, Natalie (Pat) Oster, Nathan (Melissa) Miller, Ben (Katelyn) Lemond, Heath (Robin) Lemond, Nikki (Justin) Williams, Caitlin (Declan) Murphy, Riley Ambrose, Luke (Kelsey) Ambrose and Morgan (Hannah) Lemond; 25 great-grandchildren; sisters, Marilyn (Gib) Voelkel and Sue Lambert; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 64 years in 2018, Evelyn (Finke) Lemond; son, Mark Lemond; son-in-law, Kelly Ambrose; and sisters, Patricia Perkins and Shirley Reese.
