A veteran of WWII, he served with the Army Air Force in North Africa, Italy, and France. Mr. McNulty retired in 1986 following a 30 year career at Blue Cross-Blue Shield of Indiana. He was dedicated to the youth of Irvington and the Eastside, especially through his volunteer efforts for Irvington Little League. His love of his Irish heritage and the Catholic faith was most evident in his membership in the Ancient Order of Hibernians and his activities at St. Paul Hermitage, where he resided since 2004. Mr. McNulty is survived by his sister, Mary C. Myers and his children: James M. (Terri), Thomas P., and Colleen M. (Phil) Kenny. His family also includes 11 grandchildren: Maghan (Brian) Bretz, Cory (Carissa) McNulty, Molly (Doug) Hadley, Patrick McNulty, Sloane McNulty, Ward McNulty, Bridget Kenney, Eileen Kenney, Vincent Kenney, Mary Kate Kenney, and Patrick Kenney; and five great-grandchildren: Morgan, Nolan, and Shea McNulty; Patrick and Lucy Bretz. Mr. McNulty was preceded in death by his wife, Juanita C. (Walsh) McNulty, who passed away in February, 2008. He was also preceded in death by his parents, James and Catherine (Boyle) McNulty, and his three brothers, Edward F., John J., and Vincent P. McNulty. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, December 11, 2010, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 125 W. Georgia St., Indianapolis, Indiana. Entombment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Calling will be Friday, December 10, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial Chapel, 9606 E. Washington St., Indianapolis, Indiana. Additional calling will be Saturday, December 11, from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Paul Hermitage, St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, or Irvington Little League.
