James Patrick Bobay, 88, died Saturday, January 10, 2015 at Lakeland Skilled Nursing Center in Angola. He was born April 26, 1926 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Elmer and Catherine (McNulty) Bobay. He married Audrey Jean Faurote on May 30, 1951. He was a computer programmer at International Harvester in Fort Wayne and at Cummings Engine Company in Columbus. He was a teacher and the Director of the Computer Center at Tri-State University. James was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, Angola, and a past Commander of the Angola Moose Lodge. He served his country in the US Army and was a lifetime member of the American Legion, Angola Post 31. Surviving are his wife Audrey Bobay of Angola, Indiana; son Dennis and Pansey Bobay of Ossian; four daughters Susan and David Clason of Columbus, Connie Heier of West Lafayette, Marita and Steven Lythgoe of Columbine Valley, Colorado and Beth and Ted Pluta of Jupiter, Florida; three sisters Betty Schroeder, Rita and Tom Bastress and Dorothy Drew; one sister-in-law Joan Bobay; one brother-in-law Bob McDonald all of Fort Wayne; 9 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers Jack Bobay and Tom Bobay and one sister Mary Ellen McDonald. Memorials may be made in James’ memory to the Ara Parseghian Medical Research Foundation.
