James Patrick ôPatö Kelly, 64, of Terre Haute, passed away Monday, March 24, 2014, at home. He was born July 27, 1949, in Tuscaloosa, Ala., to James Kelly and Annie (Smith) Kelly. Pat attended St. PatÆs and graduated from Schulte High School in 1967. He was employed by Wabash Valley Asphalt for 27 years as a laborer, Operating Engineer (Local 841), superintendent and asphalt testing and design before his retirement. Pat also worked as SubDistrict manager for INDOT, the Vigo County surveyorÆs office and was a clerk at the City of Terre Haute clerkÆs office. Pat was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Jesse Kelly; and brother, Brian Kelly. He is survived by his wife of 34 years, Carolyn Elliott Kelly; children, Chrissie Patterson, Debi Kelly, Rick Kelly, Chris (and Amy) Wence, Chuck Wence (and Barb Robbins), Matt (and Tamara) Anderson, all of Terre Haute, and Lynn (and John) Zimmerman of Evansville; siblings, Kathy (and John) Hoffman of Terre Haute, Jenny (and Tom) Frank of Greenwood, Julie (and Eric) Miller of Salisbury, Md., and Kenny Kelly of Terre Haute; 17 grandchildren; 11 great¡grandchildren; and special friends, Tom Newlin, Chuck Hanley and Mike Beatty. Pat enjoyed spending time with family and friends, was an avid Notre Dame and NASCAR fan. One of his greatest pleasures was karaoking with Chuck Hanley.
