James R. Reedy, 57, of Washington, D.C., formerly of Groton, passed away in Washington.He was born on Dec. 27, 1949 in Quonset, R.I., the son of Lois Rau Reedy Vymola of Groton and Florida.James was a graduate of the Fitch High School in 1968 and had attended Southern Connecticut State University prior to attending and graduating from Catholic University in Washington, D.C.He then attended the Saint Meinrad School of Theology and was ordained in New Jersey in 1982.For many years, he had been the Parish Priest at St. Vincent Martyr in Madison, N.J. Although still an ordained priest, Jim had worked for the last 10 years as an employee assistance consultant for the Magellan Health in Washington, D.C.The many agencies where Jim was widely known and loved are the Court Services and Offenders Supervision Agency, the Federal Election Comm., U.S. Supreme Court, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), as well as multiple agencies within the U.S. Dept. of Agriculture.He was loved and will be greatly missed by his co-workers, family and friends.Besides his mother, Jim is survived by a sister, Vicki Reedy Parchaiski; a brother, Michael Reedy; five nieces, Heather Reedy Hudson, Corinne Parchaiski, Amanda Reedy, Kristen Gates and Joelle Federico; two nephews, Michael Reedy and Ed Parchaiski Jr.; and his very dear friend, Anne Marie Gisoldi of New Jersey.Published in The Day on 3/16/2007.
