John Edward Hazelton passed away unexpectedly on January 16, 2023. He will be forever missed by his family, friends, and fellow aviators. He lived life courageously, traveled well, and loved compassionately. John’s faith was an essential part of his life, his family is comforted that he entered fully into the presence of the Lord followed by a joyful reunion with his grandparents, parents, his beloved Jeannie, and daughter Jennifer.
John achieved his boyhood dream of becoming a pilot later than planned, and to say he soared would be an understatement. As one of his friends graciously shared, “John was an instructor of flying but also an instructor of the most important thing- a relationship with Christ.”
He loved Notre Dame football, music, playing the guitar, and his pups.
He is survived by wife Susan, his children Johnny and Jo, siblings Rick, Kathy (Paul), Susie (Dallas), and Cheri, many nieces, nephews and extended family.
