John James Birchler , 94, of Indianapolis, passed away on April 26, 2015. He was born on September 26, 1920 in Detroit, MI to the late Oscar and Helen (Hess)Birchler . His favorites include his life, church, family, traveling, and reading. He was very interested in enviromental issues. John was a graduate of Tell City High School of 1938, Epiphany School in Detroit, received a bachelor degree at Indiana University in Science, Geography/Earth Science; and graduate of St. Meinrad School. He was a member of Our Lady of Greenwood Catholic Church and a longtime member of American Association Cost Engineers. John was a cost estimated engineer and worked for many companies throughout the world. He worked for a very well known company, CHEMICO Cryogenics System located in New York, New York, for government of Algeria to liquify natural gas for the US, a plant that made synthetics diamonds in Dublin, Ireland. Manufactured automobile plastic at Bergen-Op-Zoom in the Netherlands, Core of Engineers on flood walls, along the Ohio River.Last position before retirement with A.M. Kinney Inc. in Cincinnati, Ohio.Survivors include his loving wife, Mary Rose; children, Mary H. Birchler, Susan A. Birchler, Donald A. (Veronica) Birchler, John (Caryn) Birchler; step-children, Samuel V. (Kathleen) Veavin and Angie (John) Aumage; grandchildren, Alan, Ian, David, Jennifer; step-grandchildren, Nathaniel Aumage, Angela Aumage, Zach Aumage, Nick Aumage, O.D.; step-great grandchild, Jacob Aumage. sister-in-law, Phyllis Birchler.Preceded in death by, former wife, Mary Ann (Guttery) Birchler and brother, Robert Bob” Birchler. “
