John Aldon Schum, 65 of Horse Cave, KY died Thursday, August 21, 2014 at the T.J. Samson Community Hospital. The Huntingburg, Indiana native was a self employed Granite Etching Artist for numerous monument companies from Illinois to the Virginia Border. He was a member of St. Helens Catholic Church and Our Lady of the Caves Catholic Church where he served as a Liturgist and musician.He is survived by his wife: Dinah Schatz Schum; one daughter: Chiara Schum of Evansville, Indiana; one son: Jonathon Schum of Huntingburg, Indiana; three step children: Jill VanHoosier of St Meinard, Indiana, Jamey Mars of Newburg, Indiana and Jackie Barnett of St Meinrad, Indiana; 8 grandchildren also survive.
