Joseph Francis Gajdostik, 78, of Oregon, Ohio passed away Sunday, July 2, 2017 in his residence after a brief illness with his loving family by his side. Joe was born in Toledo, Ohio on June 4, 1939 to Joseph and Frances (Capoun) Gajdostik. He was a 1957 graduate from Central Catholic High School and received his Bachelor Degree from St. Meinrad Seminary, St. Meinrad, IN. Joe taught history at Central Catholic from 1961-1965. From 1965-1975 Joe sold pharmaceuticals for Marion Labs. In 1975à he became an Allstate Insurance Agent until his retirement in 2000. Through the years Joe also worked for A&P, HarryÆs Clothing, Huss Painting, Packo Catering and most recently Beth Allen Florist. Joe will always be remembered for his sense of humor and his dedication to family, especially his grandchildren. Joe actively served on many boards and belonged to numerous organizations. These included: St. Ignatius Catholic Church, Cardinal Stritch High School Board and chairman of the Athletic Advisory Board, Oregon Recreation Board, Cub Scout Master Starr Elementary, Oregonian Club, Maumee Bay Chamber of Commerce board of directors and Past President, East Toledo Center for Community Mental Health, Oregon Equalization Board, Oregon Building and Planning Commission, National Guard Academy Board, Vail Meadows Board, Meals on Wheels, St. Martin de Pores Soup Kitchen, Sacred Heart Festival Committee and Little Sisters of the Poor. Surviving are his loving wife of 52 years, Judy; children, Jeffrey (Lynn), Joseph (Jodi), Jay (Beth), Jodi (Chris) Yager, Janell (Jason) Toth; grandchildren, Kelsey (Matt), Karli, Alexa, Regan, Grant, Harrison, Brianna, Addison, Broc, Carson, Delaney, Eli; great granddaughter, Jenna; special step grandchildren, McKenzie, Madison, Kayla, Nicole, and Nathan; brother, Ed (Marylou). Joe was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Phyllis Mathias.
