Joseph U. Lasher, 87, passed away at his home.Joseph served during WWII, in the United States Navy Fleet 27th Escort Command. He was a member of the American Legion Funkhouser Post No. 8, and the V.F.W. Post 1114. He retired from the Carpenters Local 90. He was a charter member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church.He was preceded in death by his parents, William Henry and Elinora Lasher, sisters, Mary Lyons and Betty Esposito, brothers, Arthur Lasher, Victor Lasher and Carl Lasher.Surviving Joseph are his wife, Eleanor Aders Lasher; daughters, Susan Werner and her husband, Raymond, of Evansville, Sr. Patty Lasher O.S.B. of Ferdinand, Ind., Sr. Caroline Joan Lasher at Little Sisters of the Poor, Denver, Colo., Catherine Wooldridge and her husband, Michael, of Evansville, Martha Coomer and her husband, Mark, of Evansville, Teresa Townsend and her husband, Mark, of Chandler, Ind., and Loraine Shown and her husband, Joe, of Garland, Texas; sons, Joseph Philip Lasher of Bristow, Ind., David Lasher and wife, Beth, of Boonville, Ind., Howard Lasher and wife, Ruth, of Cynthiana, Ind., Daniel Lasher and wife, Mary Ruth, John Lasher and wife, Angela, Jerome Lasher, and Mark Lasher and wife, Ellen, all of Evansville; sister, Rita Hudicek and husband, Bernie, of Evansville; and 38 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.Memorial contributions may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor, 1236 Lincoln Ave., Evansville, IN 47714 or Benedictine Sisters of Ferdinand, Ind., 802 E. 10th Street, Ferdinand, IN 47563.
