Judith (Kirkwood) Krese, 70, passed away on October 7, 2013 at VNA Charlier Hospice Center in Evansville. She was born on July 22, 1943 to Denver and Bettye Kirkwood. Judith attended Brescia College in Owensboro and earned her Master’s degree in Theology from Saint Meinrad. She had also earned many other degrees. Judith served on the alumni board at Saint Meinrad from 2007 until 2013 and volunteered at St. Mary’s Hospital. The love of her life was her service to the church. Judith was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church where she enjoyed singing in the choir.Judith was preceded in death by her son, Andrew; by her parents, Denver and Bettye Kirkwood; and by her grandparents, Dr. L.S. and Brilla Taylor. Survivors include her sister, Cheryl (Robert) Miller; niece, Stephanie (Chad) James; nephew, Zach Miller; and great nephews, Parker and Taylor James. The family would like to express their sincerest gratitude to the staff of VNA Charlier Hospice for the wonderful care and kindness given to Judith.Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at 10:00am at Sunset Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 3 to 8pm on Wednesday at the funeral home.
