M. Kathleen Miller, 77, of Washington, went to be with the Lord at 2:20 p.m. Tuesday at Daviess Community Hospital.Born May 14, 1932, in Daviess County, she was the daughter of Walter and Mary (Smith) Miles.She was a 1950 Washington Catholic High School graduate. She also graduated from Vincennes University with an associate’s degree in nursing, from the University of Evansville with a bachelor’s degree in nursing, and from the University of Louisville with a master’s degree in social work. She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Catholic Church where she sang in the choir, the Washington Professional Women and Ladies of the Moose. She retired from Washington Community Schools as a social worker where she implemented the Social Work Program. She also served as the school nurse for several years for Washington Community Schools.She is survived by her husband, Bernie Miller, whom she married Aug. 20, 1952; one daughter and son-in-law, Judy and Stacy Ingle of Washington; five sons and daughters-in-law, Curt and Denise Miller of Centennial, Colo., Jim and Jan Miller of Indianapolis, Steve and Amanda Miller of Washington, Greg and Jeannette Miller of Sullivan and Mike Miller of Washington; two sisters, Pat Clark of Downers, Ill., and Louise Harmon of Lombard, Ill.; one brother, Richard Miles of Hudson, Wis.; 17 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.She is preceded in death by her parents; and four brothers, John, Tom, Leonard and Frank Miles.Memorial donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association, 50 E. 91st St., Suite 100, Indianapolis, IN 46209-4830.Published in the Washington Times-Herald February 24, 2010
